Giancarlo Pepeu
Prof.
Giancarlo Pepeu is Full Professor
of Pharmacology at the University
of Florence.
He has covered different academic
positions among which Vice-Rector
for Research and International Relations
and Chairman of the Evaluation Committee
for the International School for Advanced
Studies (I.S.A.S./SISSA) in Trieste.
Among his professional activities
he is the author of 233 papers published
in international journals and co-editor
of four books.
He received grants from the Ministry
of Education and Universities, the
National Council of Research, Istituto
Superiore di Sanità, and several
private companies and foundations.
He gives lectures and seminars in
many European, American, Japanese
and Chinese Universities.
Since 1993, his research interests
focused on Alzheimer’s disease:
neurotoxicity of b-amyloid peptides
and brain inflammatory reaction, preclinical
studies on cholinesterase inhibitors.
