Demetrio Neri
Prof.
Demetrio Neri is Full Professor of
Bioethics and Director of the Department
of Philosophy at the University of
Messina (Italy).
He is also Co-editor of “Bioetica.
Rivista interdisciplinare” (Milano).
He is Member of the Italian National
Bioethics Committee (Comitato Nazionale
per la Bioetica, Roma). He served
as member of the ad hoc Commission
on stem cells research appointed by
the Minister of Health Umberto Veronesi
(known as the Dulbecco Commission).
He is also the author of about forty
papers on various bioethical problems,
particularly regarding the beginning
and the end of human life, the new
reproductive technologies and the
genetic interventions on the human
genome.
His last book is: "Bioethics
in Laboratory. Stem cells, cloning
and human health," preface by
Rita Levi-Montalcini, Rome, 2001.
