Giovanni Gaviraghi

With 150 publications and 20 patents to his credit, Giovanni has a wealth of experience in pharmaceutical research and development.

Before taking up the challenge of CEO at Siena Biotech in 2002, he spent twenty years at Glaxo/Glaxo Wellcome (Verona) where he held a variety of senior positions including Research and Development Director, Director of New Product Research and Director of Chemical Research.

Before joining Glaxo he held the position of Head of Lab at IFS Spa, Milan. He qualified as a medical doctor at the University of Verona in 1987 and holds a degree in organic chemistry from the University of Milan.
